Review Monday: A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

Goodreads Blurb:
"Cloud Atlas meets Orphan Black in this epic dimension-bending trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray about a girl who must chase her father's killer through multiple dimensions.

Marguerite Caine's physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements. Their most astonishing invention, called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes—and promises to revolutionize science forever. But then Marguerite's father is murdered, and the killer—her parent's handsome, enigmatic assistant Paul— escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite refuses to let the man who destroyed her family go free. So she races after Paul through different universes, always leaping into another version of herself. But she also meets alternate versions of the people she knows—including Paul, whose life entangles with hers in increasingly familiar ways. Before long she begins to question Paul's guilt—as well as her own heart. And soon she discovers the truth behind her father's death is far more sinister than she expected.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores an amazingly intricate multi-universe where fate is unavoidable, the truth elusive, and love the greatest mystery of all."

A-Z Challenge 2017 #1

Tanya at A Book Paradise did a post on her A to Z challenge for this year and I was reminded that I've never actually finished one of these challenges!  I have such a crazy long TBR, I think it would do me good to do a challenge this year and what better challenge than the A to Z challenge?  I won't be putting any books on the list that I've read already this year in an attempt to get some of the more obscure books that have been sitting on my TBR.  I'm going to try to keep my reading to the books on this list and then, when I finish, I'm hoping to start another one and another until the end of the year arrives.  I also won't include R&R books that I'll be reading in this or proceeding lists.

50/50 Friday (17): Most/Least Favorite Spine Design

50/50 Friday is a meme hosted by Carrie @The Butterfly Reads and I and focuses on the opposite sides of books (best/worst, differing opinions, etc).  Every week will have a new topic and several advance topics will be listed in the tab labeled 50/50 Friday!

Today's Topic: Most/Least Favorite Spine Design

I picked the books based on my most and least favorites on my physical shelves so I own both of these books in hardcover.  Spine designs are so often overlooked but they're the first thing you see when browsing through a library or bookstore!  It's time they get some recognition!

Bookish Discussions: Am I Becoming An Endings Pessimist?

It's been so long since I've done a discussion post and this topic has been rolling around in my head for a while and I'm actually becoming a little concerned for myself.  So I'd like to talk it all out with ya'll if you don't mind!  Let's get into it, shall we?

When I first say 'endings pessimist' I assume most people will think I'm saying that I believe that all stories will end terribly with people dying or the plot not being resolved or something along those lines.  That's not actually what I'm talking about.

Agatha Christie Review Round-Up Part 1

Recently, I've been really into reading all of Agatha Christie's books.  I own six of her books in paperback format so I powered through all of them these past two weeks and realized that I didn't really have the desire to write a full review for all of them.  So what resulted was a round-up review post!  I'll be reading a lot more Agatha Christie in the future but this is a good start!  I'm splitting up the reviews so this is part 1 of 2!

2016 Wrap-Up (the year that started out gloriously before deteriorating)

The time has arrived yet again for a yearly wrap-up!  2016 certainly flew by and while I wasn't so successful with everything I wanted to do, I'm feeling good about going into 2017 with better goals and such.  I'll be posting my 2017 resolutions in the next few weeks but for now, let's reflect on 2016 (AKA the year that began wonderfully and ended disastrously).

This year, I employed the use of a spreadsheet to keep track of the books I read and things about them so I can actually have some stats this year!  I've made some infographics and charts and things so enjoy!
